The Bible describes the heart as the seat of the intellect and the will.  We understand that the heart must be undivided in these two areas in order to harmonize our behavior and our desire.  Paul said, "I want to know Jesus...,"  and a heart that is touched by the truth of who Jesus is will seek to be obedient simply because of the joy it brings.
